Echocardiography is a non-invasive procedure performed to evaluate the size and strength of your heart, to assess the integrity of the four heart valves, and to detect possible fluid around the heart. Ultrasound imaging is the test of choice for diagnosing various heart disorders such as congenital heart disease, enlarged or weakened heart muscle, and leaking or narrowed heart valves.
